五九. 斜單鞭
(一). 由前式鬆腰徐徐吸氣, 身右[should be左]轉, 坐左腿扣右腳,再坐右腿, 同時兩手向左[扌+履], 然後右手向右上挑成鉤掌, 坐實右腿, 左腳根提起, 左手扶右腕內, 面西北, 目視右掌,如圖166。
Posture 59. Diagonal Single Whip
(1) [Continuing] from the previous movement, relax the waist and slowly inhale. Turn the body towards the right [should be left] and sit on the left leg. Turn the right toes inward, and then sit on the right leg. At the same time, use both hands to rollback [lu] towards the left. After that, raise the right hand towards the upper right using a hooked palm. Sit solidly on the right leg, and raise the left heel. Use the left hand to support at the inside of the right wrist. Face the northwest and look at the right palm, as in Figure 166.

(二). 由前式身右[should be 左]轉,左腳向東南邁進成左弓步, 左掌隨身轉向左按平成陰掌, 右鉤手不動。徐徐沉氣, 面東南, 目視左掌,如圖167。
(2) [Continuing] from the previous movement, turn the body towards the right [should be left] and step the left foot towards the southeast to end in a left bow stance. As the body turns towards the left, use the left palm to push [àn] at [shoulder] level to end in a Yin palm and keep the right hand as a hooked palm. Slowly sink the Qi. Face the southeast and look at the left palm, as in Figure 167.
