五六. 斜摟膝拗步
(一). 由前式鬆腰,徐徐吸氣, 下坐左腿, 右腳後移半步, 身右後轉, 再坐實右腿, 面西, 同時右手下搂隨右膝向西北上挑成立掌, 左手向右護面, 目視右掌, 如圖155。
Posture 56. Diagonal Brush Knee Twist Step
(1) [Continuing] from the previous movement, relax the waist and slowly inhale. Sit down on the left leg, and shift the right foot a half step to the rear. Turn the body back towards the right to face the west, and sit solidly on the right leg. At the same time [that the body turns], draw the right hand down towards the [right] knee, and then lift [the right hand] up towards the northwest using a standing palm. Move the left hand towards the right to guard the face, [and then circle it down in front of the chest with the center of the palm directly across from the pit of the right elbow]. Look at the right palm, as in Figure 155.

(二). 由前式徐徐沉氣, 身左轉, 面東南, 左腳隨身轉向左前移邁一步,蹬開右腿成左弓步。同時左手由右向下摟至左膝外側; 右手提肘立掌經右耳側,向前貫出推按成陰掌, 面向東南, 目視右掌, 如圖156。
(2) [Continuing] from the previous movement, slowly sink the Qi and turn the body back towards the left to face the southeast. As the body turns, take one step with the left foot [towards the southeast]. Begin to push through the right leg to end in a left bow stance. At the same time, move the left hand down from the right and draw it across to the outer side of the left knee. [Simultaneously], lift the right elbow and move the right standing palm to pass by the side of the right ear. [Then from the side of the right ear], push the [right hand] to pierce forward ending in a Yin palm. Face the southeast, and look at the right palm, as in Figure 156.
