五五. 十字手
(一). 由前式鬆腰,徐徐吸氣, 坐右腿, 身下蹲向右轉, 扣左腳, 同時兩掌下護胸前, 面東南, 如圖153。
Posture 55. Crossing Hands
(1) [Continuing] from the previous movement, relax the waist and slowly inhale. Sit on the right leg and squat the body down. Turn towards the right, and turn the left foot inward. At the same time, drop both palms down to guard in front of the chest. Face the southeast, as in Figure 153.

(二). 由前式坐實左腿, 身右後轉對南方, 右腳稍後移並即向右横開一步, 左腳隨向右移成自然步, 兩掌隨身轉向左右分開向上向內兩手交叉護於胸前, 徐徐沉氣, 面南, 目前視, 如圖154。
(2) [Continuing] from the previous movement, then sit on the left leg and turn the body towards the right to face the south. Move the right foot across slightly towards the rear horizontally towards the right, opening with one [big] step. After that, move the left foot together with the right foot to end in a natural stance [i.e., parallel feet]. As the body turns, separate both palms open to the left and right, [drawing arcs] upward. [Then circle both hands] inward, crossing in front to guard the chest. Slowly sink the Qi. Face the south, and look forward, as in Figure 154.
