Previous: Posture 37. Separate Left Foot
Posture 38. Turn, Stomp Kick with Foot
(1) [Continuing] from the previous movement, relax the waist and slowly inhale. Keeping the right foot in place, drop the left foot down on the ground approximately one Chinese foot [1/3 meter] behind the right foot. At the same time, drop the right hand down as a Yin palm to guard the groin, and drop the right hand down to guard in front of the face, as in Figure 114.
[Note: Before the turn, the left hand drops down to guard the groin and the right hand guards at the face.]
Figure 114
(2) [Continuing] from the previous movement, turn the body back towards the left, using the right heel and the left toes as an axis. Face directly towards the west, as in Figure 115.
Figure 115
(3) [Continuing] from the previous movement, keep the right foot in place and raise the left leg using the knee to bump upward [i.e., knee to the groin]. At the same time, cross both hands and ward off [peng] upwards. Face the west and look forward, as in Figure 116.
[Note: This version is missing the description of the pull down before lifting the leg. In the book, it says to cross the arms as the body turns. Then roll back (lu) and a pluck (cai) down, with the right palm on top as the body squats down.]
Figure 116
(4) [Continuing] from the previous movement, kick forward with the left foot by sending the heel out. At the same time, separate both hands from in front of the forehead, with the left hand pointing forward and the right hand bracing back towards the upper right. Sink the Qi to the dan-tian, and then focus [the Qi] into the two palms. Face towards the west, and look at the left [index] finger, as in Figure 117.
