十四. 十字手
(一). 由前式鬆腰,徐徐吸氣, 後坐右腿, 扣左腳, 身右轉下蹲, 同時兩手下落, 左手在上, 隨身搂護膛前, 如圖38。
Posture 14. Crossing Hands
(1) [Continuing] from the previous movement, relax the waist and slowly inhale. Sit back on the right leg and turn the left foot inward. Turn the body towards the right and squat down. At the same time, drop both hands down, with the left hand on top, drawing back [the hands back] to guard in front of the chest, as in Figure 38.

(二). 接前式再坐左腿, 身右轉對南, 右腳後移横開一大步, 然後坐寔右腿, 再移左腳與右腳成自然步。同時兩掌向左右分開, 隨身起立, 向上劃圓弧, 兩手相合於胸前交叉環抱, 頂頭竪項, 氣沉丹田, 目前平視以調息養神, 如圖39。
(2) Continuing from the previous movement, then sit back on the left leg and turn the body towards the right to face south. Move the right foot across to open with one big step. After that, sit solidly on the right leg, and then move the left foot together with the right foot to end in a natural stance [i.e., parallel feet]. At the same time, separate both palms open to the left and right. Raise the body upright, and draw upward arcs [with the hands]. Then circle both hands around to cross in front of the chest. Push the crown of the head upward and lengthen the neck. Sink the Qi to the dan-tian. Look forward at [eye] level, and use the breath to raise the spirit [i.e., recuperate], as in Figure 39.
