Responsible Medicine Disposal Program
One of our long-term brainchild idea turned into a successful social initiative, thanks to the BITS administration and the student body. Responsible Medicine Disposal Programme, popularized as RMDP, is a social drive to tackle the rising medicine pollution and the problem of anti-microbial resistance by responsibly disposing of expired medicine from our campus held on the occasion of world pharmacist day . As a part of RMDP, a group of student volunteers collected expired medications from the students, faculty and staff residing on campus to raise awareness among campus citizens that improper medicine disposal can pollute the environment and also fuel the problem of anti-microbial resistance. As a result of this two-day initiative, few kgs of expired medicines were collected and disposed of safely and also a permanent expired medicine collection point has been established on our campus.
