Two-dimensional heterostructures combine atomically thin materials with complementary properties, leading to emergent phenomena at their interfaces such as charge transfer, proximity effects, and novel electronic states- making them unique and highly sensitive to external stimuli. Together, these features enable ultra-sensitive, low-power sensors for next-generation applications.
