Flexity Classic

This Tram was the first of the modern tram fleet in Adelaide. When these were brought in the only other Trams that were operation were the H type Trams from 1929. These trams were imported new from Germany. During shipment one of these trams was damaged way beyond repair. This resulted in the Tram being scavenged for parts instead of being used. These trams have been tested and are currently used on all 3 Tram lines.

Fun Facts

  • Tram 102 is the only Flexity Classic with traditional leather hand holds, all of the others have the modern rubber hand holds.
  • When these trams were introduced to Adelaide, most of the tram stations had to be lowered since this is a low floor tram unlike all the other high floor tram predecessors.
