Welcome!
Thank you for visiting my ePortfolio! Throughout this site, you will see examples of my coursework, goals, and outcomes, as well as learning experiences outside of class. You will also be able to get a glimpse of my life outside of class to see how service learning and other forms of extra-curricular activities have shaped my perspective and aided me in finding my passions.
About Me:
My name is Tracy Delate, I am from South Africa and am 52 years old. As the time was approaching for my youngest child to enter high school, I decided to go back to school and study something I have always wanted to do - occupational therapy (OT). I first decided to do a BS in Public Health at BYU so I could get a general education in public health and what it entails in the USA. I have known for many years that I want to study OT because I have a passion for helping people to live independently while doing everyday activities that are meaningful to them - this is what OT is. I looked for a school to lead me into that field and found SLCC, where I could do an associate degree in occupational therapy assistant (OTA). After applying, I was accepted into this two-year program, and I am excited to learn all I need to be a certified OTA and look forward to graduating in 2026. After graduation, I aim to get a job in either an early intervention or geriatric setting and work and serve in my community as an OTA, doing what I am passionate about.
