Track It! - Privacy Policy.

The short version: Track It! AP Suite (the extensions and the Suite mobile app) stores your grades locally on your device — that data never leaves your browser or phone. If you choose to sign in with Google for Beta Access, we collect only your name and email address — solely to provide lifetime access (limited time) for helping us improve our service based on your comments and input and product updates. Track It! Connect is different: it's an optional companion product that lets teachers create classes and see their students' progress, which means teacher account information and student names/scores are stored on our servers (via Supabase) so they can sync between devices. We never sell your data!

2. Two Products, Two Very Different Data Practices

Track It! AP Suite (Chrome extensions and the Suite mobile app) and Track It! Connect (the companion mobile app for teachers and students) handle data very differently. Please read the section that applies to what you're using — if you use both, both sections apply to you.

PART A — Track It! AP SUITE

A1. Grade & Standards Data (Local Only)

All grade tracking data — your scores, weights, progress checks, and snapshots — is stored exclusively on your own device (using Chrome's local storage for the extensions, or your phone's local app storage for the Suite mobile app). This data never leaves your browser or device and is never transmitted to our servers or any third party.

A2. BETA Access Sign-In (Optional, Chrome Extensions Only)

If you voluntarily choose to sign in with Google to claim Beta Access on a Chrome extension, we collect:

• Email address — to identify your account and send product updates

• Display name — to personalize your experience

• Sign-in timestamp — to record when you registered

• Which extension you signed in from — to understand usage patterns

This information is stored in a private Google Sheet accessible only to CRL Enterprises LLC. This sign-in is entirely optional and is not required to use any Track It! AP Suite extension or the Suite mobile app.

A3. Google Sign-In & OAuth

When you sign in with Google for Beta Access, we request access only to your email address and basic profile information (name and profile picture). We do not access your Google Contacts, Google Drive, Gmail, or any other Google services. Your sign-in is handled through Google's secure OAuth 2.0 system. We never see or store your Google password.

A4. Data Storage & Security

Beta user registration data is stored in a private Google Sheet secured by Google's infrastructure, with access restricted to authorized CRL Enterprises LLC personnel only. Your local grade data is stored in Chrome's chrome.storage.local (extensions) or your device's local app storage (Suite mobile app) — sandboxed to the app and inaccessible to websites or other apps.

A5. Suite Mobile App Specifically

The Track It! AP Suite mobile app does not require any sign-in, does not use analytics or crash reporting, does not perform over-the-air (OTA) updates that transmit data, and does not use OAuth. No data of any kind leaves your device through the Suite mobile app.

PART B — Track It! CONNECT

Track It! Connect is a separate, optional product that lets teachers create classes, share a join code with their students, and see their students' progress on the standards they've assigned. Because this requires syncing information between a teacher's device and their students' devices, Connect stores certain information on our servers — specifically, through a third-party database provider called Supabase.

B1. Information We Collect From Teachers

If you create a Track It! Connect teacher account, we collect:

• Email address and password — used to create and secure your account (your password is never visible to us; it is securely handled by our database provider, Supabase, using industry-standard encryption)

• Display name — shown to your students and used to identify your account

• The classes you create — including class names, the course each class is linked to, and the join code generated for each class

• Any customizations you make to standards for your classes (renamed, hidden, or reworded standards)

B2. Information We Collect From Students

Track It! Connect is deliberately designed to minimize the personal information collected from students. Students do not create an account, do not sign in, and are not asked for an email address or any other identifying information. To join a class, a student enters only:

• A display name they choose themselves — shown only to their teacher, to identify their entry on the class roster

• The class join code provided by their teacher

Each student's device also generates a random, anonymous device identifier used only to keep their scores linked to the correct roster entry. This identifier does not contain or reveal any personal information and cannot be used to identify a specific person on its own.

Once joined, a student's scores on the standards for that class are synced to our servers so their teacher can view their progress, and so the student's own scores stay consistent if they use the app on more than one device.

B3. What Teachers Can See

A teacher who creates a class can see: the display names students used to join that class, and those students' scores on the standards for that class. A teacher cannot see any other information about a student, and cannot see a student's data for any course or class the student has not specifically joined using that teacher's class code.

B4. How We Use Connect Data

We use Connect account and roster data solely to operate the core features of the product: letting teachers manage their classes, letting students sync their progress to their teacher, and letting customizations a teacher makes appear correctly for their students. We do not use this data for advertising, and we do not sell it to any third party.

B5. Data Storage & Security (Connect)

Connect data is stored using Supabase, a third-party database and authentication provider. Data is protected using industry-standard security practices, including encrypted connections and database-level access rules (Row Level Security) that restrict who can see or modify any given piece of data — for example, a teacher's access is limited to students who have joined their own classes, and a teacher cannot access another teacher's classes or students.

B6. Leaving a Class or Deleting Data

• Students can leave a class at any time from within the app. Leaving a class removes that class's link to their device and deletes their scores associated with that specific class; their own locally-tracked progress for the course itself is not affected.

• Teachers can remove an individual student from their class, or delete an entire class, at any time from within the app. Deleting a class permanently removes that class, every student's membership in it, and all associated scores.

• A teacher may request deletion of their account and all associated data at any time by emailing crlenterprises1@gmail.com.

3. Your Rights & Choices

• Access: You may request a copy of any personal data we hold about you (Beta Access registration, or Connect teacher account data).

• Deletion: You may request deletion of your Beta Access registration, or your Connect account and data, at any time by emailing us.

• Opt-out: You can unsubscribe from product update emails at any time.

4. Children's Privacy

Track It! AP is designed for high school students (typically ages 14–18) and their teachers. Track It! Connect's student join flow was specifically designed to avoid collecting personal information from students — no account, no email, and no sign-in is required or requested. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through any Track It! product. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately so we can address it.

Teachers using Track It! Connect with real students are responsible for complying with their school's and district's policies regarding student data and educational technology tools, including FERPA where applicable.

5. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify Beta Access users and Connect account holders of significant changes via email. Continued use of any Track It! product after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
