Dr. Tracey Waid is the Director of Secondary Instruction for the Mooresville Graded School District, home to a widely known and recognized 1:1 digital conversion and consistently recognized as one of the top achieving districts in North Carolina. She works closely with district and school administrators, instructional coaches, and teachers to implement engaging and effective instructional practices and curriculum for secondary students in a digitally-rich environment. Tracey also creates and leads professional development for school-based, district and national trainings on effective teaching practices and blending pedagogy and technology. She serves as the district's Title III coordinator and manages the multilingual learner education program for the district.
Tracey previously served as the Assistant Principal for Instruction at Mooresville High School, MGSD District Lead Instructional (Technology) Coach and mentored the district's other coaches. Tracey has 13 years of teaching experience, holds National Board for Professional Teaching Standards certification, and was Teacher of the Year. She is a past presenter at the ISTE National Conference, the NC Technology in Education Society (NCTIES) statewide conference, the NC Department of Public Instruction's Connecting Communities of Education Stakeholders conference, and the Foreign Language Association of North Carolina (FLANC) statewide conference.
Tracey has a doctorate in School Improvement from the University of West Georgia, where her dissertation on Effective Teacher Evaluation Feedback won dissertation of the year. She holds a master's degree in Curriculum & Instruction, and is fluent in French and Spanish.
