Effective date: February 25, 2026
These terms explain how you can use TraceCat and what to expect from subscription, billing, and app behavior.
By downloading, installing, or using TraceCat, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please stop using the app and cancel any active subscription through Apple.
TraceCat is a personal expense assistant that helps you capture natural language expense entries, review spending history, and monitor category totals and budget progress.
TraceCat is provided for personal finance tracking convenience. It does not provide accounting, tax filing, legal, or investment services.
Some features require an active Pro subscription. Free trial offers may be available depending on your App Store account and past usage.
Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
You can manage or cancel your subscription in your App Store account settings. Refunds are handled by Apple under App Store policies.
You are responsible for information you enter and for reviewing entries before relying on them. Keep your device and Apple account secure.
TraceCat is designed as a local-first app. If you delete data, reset the app, or remove the app from your device, records may be permanently lost.
You agree not to misuse the app.
Do not attempt to reverse engineer, disrupt, or abuse TraceCat services or app functionality.
Do not use TraceCat for unlawful activity or to violate rights of others.
Do not interfere with subscription or entitlement checks.
The TraceCat app, branding, and software are owned by TraceCat and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These terms grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the app for personal use.
Any insights, category labels, budgets, and parsing outputs are informational tools only and may contain mistakes. TraceCat is not financial, tax, or legal advice.
We may update features, pricing, compatibility, or app behavior over time to improve quality, reliability, and security.
Certain features may vary by platform, device capability, operating system, language, or region.
TraceCat is provided “as is” and “as available” to the maximum extent permitted by law, without warranties of uninterrupted operation or error-free results.
To the extent permitted by law, TraceCat is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, savings, or data arising from use of the app.
You may stop using TraceCat at any time. We may suspend or limit access if required for legal, security, or abuse prevention reasons.
We may revise these terms from time to time. Updated terms will be posted in-app with a new effective date. Continued use after updates means you accept the revised terms.
