This Privacy Policy explains how TraceCat handles information when you use the app, including subscription, budgeting, and natural-language expense capture features.
This Privacy Policy explains how TraceCat handles information when you use the app, including subscription, budgeting, and natural-language expense capture features.
TraceCat stores your expense data locally on your device, including amounts, merchant names, timestamps, notes, category information, and parse history records generated from your entries.
You control what you type or record. Please avoid entering sensitive personal data you do not want stored on your device.
If you choose voice input, TraceCat requests microphone and speech recognition permissions from your device. You can deny or revoke permissions in system settings at any time.
In-app purchases are processed by Apple. Apple provides billing and subscription status needed to activate, restore, and validate your Pro access.
TraceCat does not receive your full payment card details. Billing relationships remain between you and Apple under App Store terms.
TraceCat uses available information to:
Save and display your expense history and budget progress.
Parse and organize natural-language entries into structured expense records.
Maintain subscription entitlement status and restore purchases when requested.
Support reliability and app integrity, such as preventing subscription misuse.
TraceCat does not sell your personal data. We only share information when needed for app operations, legal compliance, or rights protection.
For purchase flows, necessary transaction information is handled through Apple services.
Your records remain on your device until you remove them. You can permanently clear local records from Settings using Delete all data.
Removing the app may also remove local data depending on your device backup settings.
TraceCat uses platform-provided protections and local storage controls to reduce unauthorized access risk. No method is perfectly secure, so keep your device passcode and Apple account protected.
TraceCat is not directed to children under the age required by local law to consent to personal data processing. If you believe a child provided personal data, contact us through the support channel listed on the App Store page.
We may update this policy to reflect product, legal, or operational changes. Updated versions are posted in-app with a revised effective date.
If you have questions about this policy, use the support channel listed on the TraceCat App Store page.
