-Tras elegir el estilo, buscad inspiración en portaminas que ya haya en el mercado. Puedes aprender de la experiencia de otros para no repetir sus errores.
-Las ideas esenciales de nuestro diseño se han de plasmar en las partes del objeto y el conjunto debe transmitir con claridad esas ideas clave.
-No os quedéis con la primera idea, seguid buscando más hasta poder elegir la mejor.
-Se recomienda hacer un mapa de ideas y diseñar a lápiz las formas iniciales.
-No es recomendable hacer todas las partes muy sofisticadas o recargadas.
-Pensad en las medidas comunes que las diferentes piezas han de tener para que ensamblen correctamente con las otras.
-Cuando acotéis buscad una medición clara y completa pensando en que luego deberá fabricarse.
-Presentad el portaminas en un despiece, esto ayuda a repartir las acotaciones.
-Recursos 3D: estrusiones por revolución, trayectoria o solevación, matrices polares 3D, decoraciones planas, restas, sumas o intersecciones boolianas, coloreo de caras y empleo de cámaras para ganar realismo en las vistas del dibujo.
-Para el cartel: organizad la información técnica (acotaciones), descriptiva (3D) e icónica (imágenes que se asocien a las ideas esenciales; símiles visuales). Inspiraos en la publicidad.
-El uso del inglés ha de ser breve y eficiente, no describáis lo que ya se ve, contad lo que no se ve pero es una esencia a transmitir.
Practical tips
-After choosing the style, look for inspiration in mechanical pencils that already exist in the market, you can learn from the experience of others rather than blunder around and repeat their mistakes .
-Don´t settle for your first idea, try to generate as many possible solutions as you can before choosing one that you feel is the best.

-Draw your mechanical pencil in an exploded view, which shows the order of assembly of the various parts and helps to distribute the dimensions.
-3D resources: extrudding by revolution, trajectory or loft, 3D polar arrays, flat decorations, subtractions, additions or Boolean intersections, surfaces coloring and use of cameras views to improve realism in your drawing.
-The poster: organize the technical information (dimensioning), descriptive views (3D) and visual analogies (metaphorical images that are associated with the essential ideas). Let you get inspired from advertising.
-The use of English must be brief and efficient: every word is important to convey your message. Do not describe what is already being seen, tell about what cannot be seen but it is an idea to be transmitted.
