Information on how to run for office in the United States, Other Nations, and TPON positions posted here.
General elections and midterm elections... TBA
Special elections are held at a date determined by the Secretary of Election after an elected official resigns or is removed from office.
Primaries are held only for members registered to a political party. They are overseen and managed by the political parties according to the rules and deadlines set by them. If you are affiliated with a party, you must win the primary or be the sole candidate for that party in a particular race to be on the official ballot.
Seekers of office who are not registered or affiliated to a political party do not need to go through any primary process. To run for office, you must sign up according to rules and deadlines set by the Department of Elections and its Secretary.
Those on the ballot for the Presidency may not be on the ballot for any Congressional or Gubernatorial race.
A member of TPON may only be on the ballot for one Congressional race (House or Senate), including a max of one Gubernatorial race.
Candidates may drop out at anytime. If you intend to drop out prior to the ballot list due date and you are affiliated with a political party, speak with your party. If you intend to drop out and you are not affiliated with a political party, speak with the Secretary of Elections. After the ballot list due date, you must speak with the Secretary of Elections to have your name removed from the ballot.
Each foreign nation holds signups on their own Instagram pages. See the Instagram page of a foreign nation or speak with the admin of a foreign nation for information on planned elections. Elections are held by the TPON Elections Department.
The signups and election of the SoE are held by the Admin Council. The Admin Council, however, may hold signups and elections (or choose) for any TPON Secretarial position.
