Dress Rehearsals

Important: Debut, Next Steps, Teen, Performance Team and Gold Squad classes will rehearse on stage at Independence High School. Dance Co will rehearse at Studio C.

Instructions for Dress Rehearsal @ Independence High School

Your dancer will sit in the auditorium with you and we’ll announce when it’s their turn to boogie on stage. This will be a great opportunity to take pictures and film your favorite dancer. :)

  • Arrive IN COSTUME with HAIR and MAKEUP done. Have more than one costume? Arrive dressed for the first routine listed.
  • Bring your cameras to snap photos and take video during the dress rehearsal only.
  • Your dancer will practice each routine on stage once. NOTE: Due to the limited school availability, DEBUT DANCERS will only practice their TAP routine.
  • Once your dancer completes all of their routines, they may go home and rest.
  • Note: We do not practice the Anniversary, Father Daughter routine or Finale at Dress Rehearsal.

  • It will be cozy with dancers, costumes, parents and teachers at C. It’s a good thing we all love each other. 😊

Why is Dance Company having Dress Rehearsal @ Studio C?

Due to the limited availability of rental time at Independence High School, I felt it was important for our younger and/or less experienced performers to practice on stage. Dance Co has become quite versed in performing on various stages throughout the metroplex and I am confident in their ability to adapt to the new venue.

  • Please arrive 30 minutes prior to your show time dressed and ready to perform.

  • Doors will open for seating 30 minutes prior to show time. Seating is first come, first served.
  • IMPORTANT: There are only 625 seats as opposed to our usual 786. Please limit your invites to close family only. We'll have to save the invites for neighbors, teachers and long lost relatives for another performance when we're back in our home venue at Lake Dallas HS.
  • The recital will be professionally recorded so no video or flash photography will be allowed during the performance.
  • Be sure to tape the Dress Rehearsal though!

Hire your babysitter for your class during the performance

Most moms prefer to watch the show, so the class hires a babysitter for $5 per dancer. The babysitters serve as the “room mom” and stay backstage to help the class change shoes, fix their hair and make-up if need be, escort them to and from the stage and keep them entertained during the program….all while you sit back and enjoy the show!

ACTION REQUESTED: Please meet with the other parents in your dancer’s class, decide together who will be watching your kiddos and fill out the Room Mom Sign Up Sheet in the lobby.

Note: Turning Pointe does NOT have babysitters on staff. Your class will need to hire one on your own. Should your class decide to hire a babysitter, Turning Pointe will autodraft $5 from your account and pay the babysitter directly.

EVERY CLASS needs a babysitter/room mom if dancers are younger than 10 years old.

Deadline to determine who will stay backstage with your class: April 15th.

Babysitters Recommended for younger siblings during the show

We respectfully request you secure a babysitter for your young child(ren) during the performance. It can be a challenge to keep a toddler or infant quiet and sitting still the whole time. Please understand that hours and hours of hard work and dedication go in to our productions. We want it to be an enjoyable experience for everyone who attends, including you. :)
