Doug and Lana Swingholm have been the owners of The Fort for 3 years. There are many stories of what The Fort was through history, a funeral parlor or a drugstore. However, there is not much to confirm these stories. The building has been added onto through the years. The locals can tell you where and why they think that was the case. All you have to do is ask. The grill regularly has lunch/dinner specials. To find out the daily special, visit Ft. Laramie Bar & Grill (The Fort) on Facebook!

Haystack Hills Trading is a local stop owned by Jim Hageman. Although the building has been around for quite some time, the Hageman's opened their shop in 2017. The building was coming down and they had plans to repair the shop. Haystack Hills Trading is best known for their ice cream and gift items. Although it may look like a convenience store, it is so much more. For more information: visit Haystack Hills Trading on Facebook!

Richard Scott has been the owner and operator of the Fort Laramie Trading Post for 32 years. It is hard to describe what all you can find within the Trading Post. If you're looking for something, the Trading Post is likely the place to go. They are one of the largest cowhide dealers in Wyoming. However, they offer a wide variety of hides with a variety of uses. If you are looking for a gift, historical memorabilia, or trinkets, the Trading Post is highly recommended. To see more of what they offer, visit Fort Laramie Frontier Trading Post on Facebook!
The very first ever post office in Wyoming was located in Fort Laramie. Although not originally at this location, the military post at the historic Fort had an established post office back in 1850. Since then, a lot has changed besides address. Fort Laramie's post office used to be an important stop on the pony express route and a stagecoach point.

The Fort Laramie Senior Center opened in 1980. Originally, the meals were served out of Margaret's Café (which is now gone) because there was no way to cook. The kitchen of the current building was remodeled and now the senior center fully runs out of that building. The senior center not only serves lunch but is open for games, company, and even helps people reach the resources they may need. Nancy Martin has been running the senior center for over 20 years. She is great company and would be happy to answer any questions.
