Teaching the scriptures in their true context can have many advantages since it is the fundamental step to know God, to really know what is the doctrine that governs the universal church, how to defend the faith, how to lead others to Christ, how to maintain an intimate relationship with God and most importantly how to live them on a daily basis. In addition to other benefits such as:
(a) Spiritual growth: Bible study can help cultivate a special relationship with God and grow spiritually.
b) Learning: Bible study can help to better understand God, His will and what He asks of us. It can also help to learn about God's history, the prophets, the psalmist and other Old Testament experiences.
c) Edification: A Bible study group can provide a space to ask questions and gain wisdom from other believers.
d) Context: Study Bibles can include notes that provide cultural and historical context to help understand difficult passages and big theological ideas.
e) Comparison: Bible study can be compared to extracting gold from a mine, where the reward is in proportion to the revelation given by the Holy Spirit so that such revelation can be shared and assimilated by believers.
