Volunteer Information

"I volunteer with Special Olympics because I love what the organization does for the athletes and their families. To see the confidence and inclusion that the program provides, is truly an amazing experience for all involved."

Over 400 volunteers will work together throughout the two days of Tournament of Champions to provide high quality competitions and to create an environment where every athlete feels confident and supported to try his or her best. Together, we're celebrating all ability levels and building a community of inclusion and acceptance filled with high fives and champions.

No prior experience is required to volunteer with softball, cycling, bocce, and Olympic Village and you'll be provided with all necessary instructions at the event. Golf volunteers are asked to have experience and familiarity with golf. Specific volunteer roles are assigned when you arrive and may include keeping time, keeping score, announcing games, being a course marshal, giving awards, helping with social media, event set up and clean up, event logistics, and cheering and being a fan. Volunteer roles are great for all ages! Volunteers younger than 16 are welcome to volunteer, but must volunteer with an adult chaperone. To see a list of volunteer roles for each sport, please read here: Volunteer Roles

How to Register:

All registered volunteers will receive a confirmation email the week of the event which will include a reminder of your shift time, venue address, parking information, and additional event information. Please be sure your inbox allows emails from Volunteer@specialolympicsma.org.

On behalf of Special Olympics athletes, thank you for volunteering and see you soon!
