We offer a complete selection of services for the Citroen A-Series owner. From an oil change right up to a full nut and bolt restoration.
Servicing is not done blindly. Whilst a service is carried out, we will also be looking at other areas of the vehicle so that we may find anything that might potentially cause a future problem. We work to a service list which enables us to be confident that all service checks have been carried out fully.
MOT testing can be a problem for 2CV owners. Many of the testing stations fail to understand the differences between 2CVs and modern cars. King pins for instance often fail when they are perfectly alright. Totally 2CV have been using the same MOT testing station for almost eleven years. In that time, they have built an understanding of 2CVs allowing them to recognise the differences between the 2CV and other vehicles. But don't expect them to miss anything, the safety of the vehicle cannot be ignored.
At Totally 2CV, we pride ourselves in the quality of our work. We will not take short cuts and will ensure that your vehicle is returned to you in a safe and fully servicable condition. Any necessary extra work would only be carried out after consultation, so you will always know what you are paying for.
One of the more serious problems a 2CV suffers from is corrosion. This can often result in the need to replace panels. Whether we do this or carry out a simple repair, our welding is done to the highest standard. This includes the removal of all "infected" metal and an application of an anti rust treatment to the new metal or panel to protect it after it has been fitted
Having fitted a new chassis to over 220 cars and vans, Jeff Colmer is well experienced in the job. Each car that is fitted with a new chassis, will also be fitted with a new lower bulkhead as standard. The bulkhead is the area of the bodyshell which is in direct contact with the chassis and much of the strength of the vehicle is in this area. It is almost certain that a car with a corroded chassis will also have a corroded bulkhead. Other jobs done as standard when fitting a new chassis are.. Replacement of front to rear brake pipe, fitting of new superior body mounting foam, removal, checking, cleaning and lubrication of knife edges, lubrication of suspension cylinders, fitting of fuel gauge sender, and full anti corrosion protective treatment to the underside of the vehicle before refitting of the bodyshell.
We also offer a rebuild service that can be designed to meet the financial requirements of the customer. Whether you require a top of the range full rebuild or a partial rebuild, we will be happy to discuss your needs.
Totally 2CV hold a good stock of new and used parts, including everything needed to service your car. We hold a stock of Tyres and exhausts and if there is anything that is not in stock, we can usually get the item within 2 working days.
Pucknall Farm has several businesses on site including a Classic Car Restorer who provides services on all makes of classic cars. There are also large stables where many horses are looked after. One of the most interesting buildings is the old barn, a listed building that was the actual barn used to film the children's television series, Worzel Gummidge.
There is nothing that I enjoy more than someone calling in for a chat. So if you are out my way, please call in. If you're really lucky, you might even get offered a coffee or two and you'll get to see my 1953 'Ripple Bonnet'
