Design & Innovation Department Award

The Design and Innovation Award honors those students who have embraced the user-centric philosophy of design, engineering, and innovation while showing passion, initiative, and dedication. These students have not only impacted themselves but have become an inspiration to the rest of the La Jolla Country Day School community.

This year, Torrey Startup is happy to congratulate Yasmina Torres, (Vice President of Torrey Startup), on winning the Class of 2022's Design & Innovation Department Award. Yasmina has programmed exceptional applications and constantly challenges herself by learning new technologies. She turned herself into a full-stack developer within just two years of learning how to program. It is an absolute honor and privilege to have Yasmina on this year's Torrey Startup team, as she continues to produce excellence, greatness and continues to help entrepreneurs and startup companies grow to become successful.

Yasmina is the Vice President of Torrey Startup and the Chief Operating & Technology, Officer (COO & CTO). Her creative thinking and constant positive thinking have curated tens of ideas and have helped secure thousands of dollars in funds in aiding projects that Yasmina has helped develop.

Torrey Startup looks forward to continuing to work with Yasmina in the upcoming years and hopes to continue to develop, produce, and grow startup companies in the years to come! Congratulations Yasmina!
