Vernier Caliper
The vernier caliper was introduced by Pierre Vernier in 1631 as a measuring device used to precisely measure linear dimensions. In other words, it measures a straight line between two points. However, it is also a very useful tool to use when measuring the diameter of round objects like cylinders because the measuring jaws can be secured on either side of the circumference. It is an extremely precise measuring instrument; the reading error is 1/20 mm = 0.05 mm. Vernier calipers are widely used in scientific laboratories and in manufacturing for quality control measurements.
Multimeter
A multimeter or a multi-tester, also known as a VOM (volt-ohm-milli-ammeter), is an electronic measuring instrument that combines several measurement functions in one unit. A typical multimeter can measure voltage, current, and resistance. A multimeter can be a hand-held device useful for basic fault finding and field service work, or a bench instrument that can calculate to a high degree of accuracy.
Digital Oscilloscope
A digital storage oscilloscope (often abbreviated DSO) is an oscilloscope which stores and analyses the signal digitally rather than using analog techniques It is now the most common type of oscilloscope in use because of the advanced trigger, storage, display and measurement features which it typically provides
Recommended Specifications
Measuring Tape
A tape measure or measuring tape is a flexible ruler and used to measure distance. It consists of a ribbon of cloth, plastic, fibreglass, or metal strip with linear measurement markings. It is a common measuring tool.
Spirit Level
A device consisting of a sealed glass tube partially filled with alcohol or other liquid, containing an air bubble whose position reveals whether a surface is perfectly level.
