Technical core (often referred to as the tech core), is a set of courses that are specific to the pathway. These courses will help students gain the foundational skills needed to be successful in careers in their chosen pathway.
Graduates of the School of Health and Wellness will be able to:
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to care for the physical and mental health of themselves and others.
Communicate information about illness, wellness, and treatments with empathy and compassion, adapting approaches to fit the needs of patients, partners, and other audiences.
Use a learner’s mindset to investigate dozens of jobs in the field of health and wellness to determine how they fit into their community.
Explain and use problem-solving techniques to determine the steps necessary to advance through various health and wellness careers.
Communicate interests by reaching out to contacts made in the program to apply for entry-level positions or get help advancing toward professional positions.
Students in the School of Health and Wellness will attain the academic foundation to become competent and confident healthcare professionals who prioritize and champion ongoing physical, mental, and emotional health in our global society.
Students in the School of Health and Wellness will use authentic, hands-on experiences and collaborative projects to learn the fundamental concepts of medicine and everyday wellbeing. They will explore various careers in the medical field through field trips, personal interactions with professionals, and coursework that is both relevant and purposeful.
