Writing Example 1:
Background:
For decades, I sold rehab equipment and supplies. As the owner of French Creek Medical, I wrote the company's posts on social media, shortly after Facebook was invented until Q1 of 2019 - when I "pulled the plug" on the venture.
In a July 2014 Facebook post, French Creek Medical reveals to Facebook fans and followers the whereabouts of a vendor located in Hudson, Ohio.
This vendor's warehouse had contained row-after-row of rehab supply inventory. Within those rows, a person could find, most every type of supply item, that any physical therapy clinician would probably ever need. That is the way it was*, at the time when the post was written and into the conclusion of year 2014.
-----
*Two caveats:
First caveat:
I can't be certain if the inventory levels at this vendor are that way, now.
With decades of experience in supply chain, I can tell you this:
THINGS CHANGE.
Heinen's pulls out of downtown Cleveland. Kroger buys Giant Eagle.
Moreover, consider the past decade, chock-full of market forces that included - in no particular order: pandemics, tariffs, flare-ups in the Middle East, energy-driven inflation, alongside the rise of one major website (Amazon Prime) and a variety of other factors.
I realize this is all debatable.
Also, I don't pretend to be an economist.
Some of what I write about, above, is conjecture.
Second caveat:
When I post this example, I am "looking in the rearview mirror...."
In my opinion, this was "the way things were" at that moment in time.
"The way things were" may not be the same as "the way things are" — today.
This post was from the past.
Eventually, by year 2019 and onward, Amazon would be able to put together both a supply chain and a delivery system that rivaled anything that had ever existed before — and with much deeper pockets than French Creek Medical.
The rest is history...
Proper respects to Amazon.
We are all given the same seven days a week, 24 hours a day to build a vision — and they did it!
For example:
Consider: The Amazon airliners also known as Prime Air, the Amazon distribution hubs, the Amazon semi trucks.
Also, consider the number of Amazon delivery drivers and the group which includes the 1099 independent contractors and the W-2 employees.
All of this developed both rapidly and unexpectedly.
Remarkable!
Before all of that developed, a Facebook post had been written, back in year 2014.
The Facebook post from 2014 is what I present to you, today, as my writing sample.
Here it is.
