Description: At sunset, the horizon at Kent, Ohio appears to glow bright orange on one particular evening during either my junior - or my senior year of working toward my bachelor's in advertising degree at the Kent State University.
During this era, I was living at the McDowell Hall of the Twin Towers complex at KSU main campus. Looking up from my work, I grabbed my 35mm Minolta that was already loaded with color film - and pictured this particular moment in time, from the early 90s.
Location: McDowell Hall / Twin Towers Complex / Kent State University Main Campus, Kent, Ohio
Photographer: Tom Wible
Media: Color film printed to a paper 3" x 5" print. Then, the print was converted to .jpeg using flatbed scanner sometime after the invention of Windows 95.
Original Date Pictured: Between year 1992 and year 1993 which would have been my junior and senior years as an upperclassman living in the Twin Towers Complex. More specifically, this would be pictured from the seventh floor McDowell Hall facing toward the identical Beall Hall, hence the name Twin Towers.
These days, it seems as if management has upgraded the Twin Towers Complex following my departure in the early 90s back when I had pictured the sunset pictured, above.
And while the following link below is not my own personal work, you can view remarkable dorm room elevations and you can see exactly what the new and improved McDowell Hall (2.0) looks like, today, on the KSU university housing website here: www.kent.edu/housing/mcdowell-hall
