This shop is themed like a duty-free shop that one might find in an international airport. Port of Tomorrow sells items featuring the touristy attractions of the new Tomorrowland–the Tomorrow Show, the romantic dark ride, and the new People Mover. There are t-shirts and long-sleeved shirts, toys (including models of the People Mover), boxed candies (including both chocolates and freeze-dried varieties), and sleek bottles of perfumes and colognes.
In this toys and games shop, kids and kids-at-heart will find puzzle toys, remote-control cars and spaceships, and fidget spinners. The latest video games and smartphone games are also available to play on demo mode on large screens.
With its strengthened backstory and setting, Tomorrowland will be enchanted by the Citizens of Tomorrowland! These traveling characters add life and interactivity to the land. Each is a cast member, usually in extensive makeup and costume, similar to Galactic Starcruiser’s crew. When paired with the Starlight Bazaar, they create a one-two punch of interactive memorability!
The Mayor of Tomorrowland
This top hatted android is the ineffectual ruler of Tomorrowland! Despite his best efforts, the city is overrun with corruption and all manner of scoundrels. However, the mayor is more concerned with more pressing matters: walking! He insists that every citizen of and visitor to his city use the traditional Tomorrowlandese Walk, a sort of hopping strut, to get around. Nobody does, of course, but he is more than happy to teach you in his formal English accent! He also has a long list of dad puns to draw from, making interactions with him both stuffy and goofy!
Officer Sputnik
This large, bug-like alien is the chief of the Tomorrowland Police (TPD!). When he first started his job, he was determined to clean the city up. Now, he’s got a better idea: to have a lot of fun! Officer Sputnik is corrupt, sure, but he wouldn’t hurt a Gerkle (although he would hurt a Space Pirate!). A jovial guy with a bit of a dark sense of humor, Sputnik can be found roaming the Starlight Bazaar in his big policeman’s uniform. He’ll often stop to take bribes from shopkeepers, perhaps enlisting guests to distract the Space Force to create a wonderful moment of crime!
Captain O’Scuggle
This daring cyborg lass is the captain of the Space Pirates! In the style of Treasure Planet, she’s got a bionic arm and a peg leg, and talks in a pirate brogue. She takes great joy in life and in taunting the rule of law, and interactions between her and both the Mayor and Sputnik are always hysterical. They KNOW she’s guilty of something, they just can’t figure out what! Maybe they’ll catch her in the act someday, but until then, guests can help her sneak around the Bazaar!
The Galactic Space Force
The mayor had a real problem with Space Pirates, and ineffectual Officer Sputnik wasn’t solving the issue, so he called in the Galactic Space Force to save the day! These guardians of the peace are an entertaining troupe of assorted creatures, aliens, humanoids, and robots, all in the standard Space Force uniform, and all with a great love of authority. The concept is similar to the popularly strict Green Army Men at Hollywood Studios, and even more fun! They spend most of their time searching for the pirates, although they’re more than happy to stop and chat with guests!
The Space Pirates
This motley crew is good with anything that’s bad, as they steal and sabotage the cargo in the port! These guys are much more futuristic than their Adventureland counterparts, a much smaller part of the land, and a lot more unapologetically evil. But that doesn’t mean that they can’t be fun! This crew provides a foil to the Space Force, creating a fun, engaging, and understandable dynamic for guests to enjoy.
