Final art works for inside out
Oil on linen 120cmx120cm
These characters are representative of different aspects of my personality and the imagery serves as a reflection of this. I've used the color red to symbolize the feminine aspect of myself, blue for the masculine aspect, black for the older section, and light grey for the younger section. The fifth character in the painting is myself, but only as a representation of what the other four characters think of me. My artistic concept focuses on the contrast between the colors red and blue and how they represent people in society, with white representing the young and black representing the old. The painting explores my relationship with my masculinity and femininity, and the mental conflict that arises from it. The central focus of the painting is myself, as it reflects my personality and creativity through the colors and themes. It represents not only me but also my heart. The painting revolves around the theme of identity and delves into my dark past. The character Evilyn serves as a symbol of hope, as she is brave and accepts her feelings. She stands up for what she believes in and fights against opposition. On the other hand, Tewkesbury represents a calm and collected nature, akin to water. He is an immensely talented artist. Joseflieur, who is represented by a paper full of ink and color, has experienced life and learned from it. Lastly, there is Nicholas, a young and inexperienced white paper, who loves himself, his family, and friends wholeheartedly, and is like a little angel who never lets negativity get him down and always stays happy.
Oil on linen roll
This artwork delves into the depths of emotions, memories, pain, and hurt. It follows a realistic approach, portraying an individual in a fetal position. The person feels lonely and numb, unable to fight for love or stand up for what they deserve. They're lost in their thoughts, overwhelmed with feelings of regret. It's like a war going on inside them, some emotions struggling to break free, causing agony both internally and externally. The numbness of their feelings is the focal point, with an emphasis on dissatisfaction and the resulting pain. The dark colors used in the background help accentuate the mood and make the artwork more realistic. As an artist, I've been using acrylic paints for years, but I'm now learning how to work with oil paints. I find that oil paints make it easier to blend colors and achieve a more natural result. There are many techniques for painting with oil paint, but I aim to create a smoother and more realistic outcome. One of the challenges in creating lifelike artwork is understanding anatomy, particularly bones. Through my research, I've gained knowledge on how to build a body and improve my sketching skills. However, certain areas like the neck, hands, feet, and shoulders proved to be challenging due to the complexity of the bone structure. Limbs, on the other hand, are easier to draw because of their straight, repetitive bones. The chest has curved bones that also repeat, while the backbone is simply a repetition of vertebrae. To achieve a lifelike appearance in my artwork, I focus on adding realism by understanding the different muscle functions and artistic expressions. By doing so, I can increase the impact of my work and convey emotions more effectively.
Shadow from sculpture
This artwork delves into the complex emotions of love, sexuality, and gender, exploring the desire for true love and the fantasy of what it entails. Rather than focusing solely on the physical aspect, the art suggests that love is about a deeper connection, one that calms the soul and brings a sense of peace. It is difficult to articulate these feelings, but through the use of shadows, the artist hopes to convey a sense of their emotions. The idea for this project originated from a study of sculpture, but the artist decided to explore the concept through painting, using the motion of skin to create a sculptural effect. By adding shadows as a final touch, the artist brings the subjects to life. The art piece, "My Shadow Sculpture," represents the fundamental aspects of love and the artist's perspective on art and the environment. The materials used for the sculpture, such as cardboard and tape, are common household items, emphasizing the artist's commitment to minimizing their impact on the environment. Ultimately, this artwork is a testament to the power of love, which transcends age, gender, and sexuality, and the artist's vision to create something beautiful from everyday materials.
