today i will answer the age-old question: how many cats are too many cats?
of course, you can have as many animals as you want as long as you take proper care of them.
first, let's do the obvious answer: how many cats can you fit inside a house?
the average house is 17600 cubic feet, and the average cat is 0.17 cubic feet.
17600/0.17=103529.411765, so 103530 cats is too many cats.
but you would never want to step on a cat, would you?
the average floor surface area of a house is 2,350 square feet.
based on my own personal experience, a cat takes up about 1 1/2 square feet on average.
assuming there is a 10% chance you dont look ahead while stepping on the floor, you would want less than 10% of the floor to have cats on it.
10% of 2350 is 235, and 235/1.5=156.666666667, so 157 cats are too many cats.
but of course, you need to buy food and other things for cats as well.
cats, on average, cost $150 per month.
the average monthly income of an american is $5,000.
5000/150=33.3333333333, so 34 cats are too many cats.
