My parents' dream was that if they worked hard they would get to see their kids go to college. We must keep that promise to every family.

Every American who studies hard in school should be able to go to college regardless of how much money their parents make and without going deeply into debt. For that, we need to work towards making tuition free at public colleges and universities throughout America, stopping the federal government from making a profit on student loans.

  1. Germany, Chile, Finland, Norway, Sweden and many other countries offer free college to all of their citizens. We should, too! We support the College for All act, which will be offset by a tax on Wall Street Speculation.
  2. College inequality also impacts the way resources are distributed between rich universities and poor universities. We support an endowment tax on the Universities with an endowment of more than a billion dollars.
  3. The federal government will make a profit of over $110 billion on student loan programs. This is wrong. We should use this money instead to significantly lower student loan interest rates. We must also protect private student loan borrowers by resisting the Trump administration's efforts to roll back consumer protections.

The GOP and Trump agenda also has placed a target on our public schools. This is unconscionable and we will resist any efforts to privatize, voucherize or reduce the protections offered by the Americans with Disabilities Act or Title IX.
