As a researcher, my goal is to use the improved measures of PSAs as inputs in labor market, health, and consumer behavior models to identify fundamental drivers of inequality in essential life outcomes, and ultimately to use this knowledge to propose policy interventions which redress the inequalities.

As a teacher, I consider it my mission to cultivate an inclusive learning environment in which all students can thrive and achieve their full potential. As I detail in my teaching statement, inclusivity forms the foundational pillar of my teaching philosophy. At the start of each course, I endeavor to create a positive learning environment in which every student senses that they, and their opinions, are highly valued. The approach has proven effective, as evidenced by this quote from an anonymous evaluation: “The professor looked for feedback in class from everybody, which made me feel as though my opinion was valued and I was encouraged to contribute.
