Every dollar raised by the PTO supports Tomahawk’s teachers and students through programs, activities, supplies, and special experiences.

Field Trips

The PTO helps provide at least one field trip per grade by covering expenses such as:

• Transportation and busing fees

• Admission and entry fees

Classroom and Student Support Grants

When families participate in PTO restaurant and food nights—such as Papa John’s, Chipotle, Culver’s, Everbowl, and others—the proceeds are placed into a dedicated grant fund.

Teachers and staff may request funding for additional classroom materials, specialized tools, student resources, or other needs not covered by their regular budgets.

Past grants have helped provide:

• Boomwhackers for the music room

• Recess and activity equipment for PE

• Specialized learning tools

• Communication boards and other resources for students with autism

• Additional classroom and student-support materials

By supporting PTO food nights, families directly help provide teachers and students with resources that make a meaningful difference.

Classroom and Specials Budgets

The PTO provides funding for classroom teachers and Specials, including:

• PE

• Art

• Music

• Library

These funds help cover classroom supplies, specialty materials, equipment, costumes, props, stage decorations, and other educational needs.

Staff Hospitality

The PTO supports Tomahawk staff throughout the school year with:

• Back-to-School Breakfast

• Catered conference dinners in the fall and spring

• Thanksgiving pies

Teacher Appreciation

The PTO celebrates and supports Tomahawk’s teachers and staff through:

• Catered appreciation lunches

• Treats and gifts for teachers and staff

• Special activities during Teacher Appreciation Week

Fifth-Grade Activities

The PTO provides dedicated funding for:

• Fifth-grade T-shirts

• The fifth-grade end-of-year celebration

• Additional fifth-grade activities and special experiences throughout the year

Special Events and Student Experiences

The PTO helps fund family-friendly events and memorable experiences, including:

• Back-to-School Splash

• Watermelon Feed

• Movie nights

• School dances

• Color Walk popsicles and incentives
