Spring finally here
Spring is an important time of year to people around the world, especially so for the Japanese. For many, the blossoming of the Cherry Blossoms after a long cold winters represents human life, transiences and nobleness. Most, if not all, towns celebrate the cherry blossoms during the limited flowering people. It’s a time for family and friends to gather outdoors and see what life has to offer. Similarly, spring is the start of both the school year and business year making it a season of fresh starts and new beginning.
The importance of Spring runs deep in Japanese cultures, and will be celebrated by this section of the Tokugawa Village. Standing in the center of this shopping location, guest will find a spring-time garden with Cherry Blossoms in perpetual bloom. Guest and foreigners alike will be able to witness the beauty of cherry blossoms year round as they explore the gardens and nearby shops.
Below is a map of the Spring Area. As you can see, it surrounds a large garden. In the back is a DisneyQuest Arcade. Also present: a food court/boardwalk!
As guest walk through the Spring section of the Mall, the colors and sounds of spring time will surround guest. Flowers in blossom will be all around guest as the walk through the lively streets of the Spring Sections. From buildings flags and lanterns hang, lighting up the streets during the night. Mall attendants wear light pinks and blues as they work through the day.
The majority of the land will have fake cherry blossom trees to create the atmosphere of the land. Real trees, not Cherry Blossom Trees though, will be featured throughout the land as well.

Towards the southern end of the garden, some of the cherry blossoms will be replaced by their Lego counterparks. On the remaining elements, other Lego items will be found amidst the trees like Squares and birds searching for food, or a dog enjoying a day in the park. As guest exit this side of the park, they will be greed by an an Japan Disney First, a Lego Store. The lego store will have mini-recreations of famous Japan landmarks, such as the historical Himeji Castle and Golden Pavilion Temple to newer ones like the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge.
The Lego Store will stand at the corner of the pathway leading south, continuing Southern streets, aged by the years standing as a city center, guest will be greeted by the stores on either side.
Guests will be able to explore an authentic Japanese garden in the center of the Springtime Village. Many famous Japanese plants will be featured throughout the gardens, including actual cherry blossom trees that will bloom in the springtime. These are the only cherry blossom trees in the land that will be real trees. As you leave the center gardens, the cherry blossom trees will be fake trees.
The gardens take up about half of the land allotted for the springtime section. Throughout the gardens will be a variety of artists, from musicians to painters to actors performing small skits. This will bring life to the gardens. Food vendors at carts will also be featured serving springtime drinks and snacks.
The Disney Quest Arcade, despite sharing the same name, is not a recreation of the Disney Quest at Downtown Disney. The pay one price strategy is abandoned for a pay as you go approach.
The majority of the building is filled with a classic arcade with exclusive Souvenir Medallion machines (the Tokyo Disneyland version of Pressed Pennies) and the most popular arcade in Japan, with a springtime twist. Claw machine games will be filled with springtime winnings and games will have springtime overlays.
In addition, similar experiences at Disney Quest will also be featured here.
Some of the experiences featured include an experience where guests can paddling their way through a river in Japan using technology where guests can go on their own path. Another experience brings the Animation Academy back to the Tokyo Disney Resort with an experience where guests can learn how to draw anime versions of Disney characters.
Heading back to the Gardens, guest who head north will be created by a larger complex servicing as a food court for this region of the shopping district. Inside and outside, guest will find plenty of seating offering a change to sit down, relax, and eat while enjoying the fun of Springtime. There is also a boardwalk just behind the food court. This is not your typical American "summer" boardwalk, but instead a walkway along the water with plenty of fun opportunities.

Next door to the courtyard, guest with an appetite for literature will find a small Mauzeen, specializing in Japanese and English literature. The store is managed by "Maruzen," the bookshop which offers books to satisfy an adult's intellectual curiosity.
