The Tokai University QOL seminar series is an initiative for examining the multiple facets and parameters for achieving improved quality of life in society. Focusing on different themes and topics the seminar series endeavors to promote a constructive and inter-cultural dialogue for increased understanding of quality of life while highlighting links to sustainable development.

Tourism provides experiences for enhanced quality of life for millions of people around the world. As a major global industry, tourism faces challenges to meet a growing sustainable agenda, while at the same time being a potent catalyst for revival and development in local communities. This seminar will address these issues and provide examples of how the tourism industry is developing and adjusting to a greener post Covid-19 world.

Dr. Daichi Oshimi is a Junior Associate Professor at the School of Physical Education, Tokai University, Japan. His area of expertise is in socio-economic aspects of sport.

Eva Thybo is Fundraising & Relationship Manager in the Department of Business Development and Partnerships at VisitDenmark

Mikal Holt Jensen is Head of Environment at HORESTA and Program Manager at Green Key.

Toru Hattori is a Junior Associate Professor at the School of Tourism, Tokai University, Japan.

His research interests focus on “local identity” as a motivating factor for community revitalization.
