New Digital Technologies and Ageing Society:
Health Sector Initiatives in Japan and Denmark

November 23rd, 2023, 9:20 - 11:30 CET/17:20 - 19:30 JST

Organized by:

 About

As societies, Japan and Denmark both face similar demographic challenges in relation to increasing elderly populations. From a health and healthcare (including long-term care for the elderly) perspective, these demographic trends require new solutions that take into account not only complex treatment needs, but also a variety of structural and cultural factors. In addition, with the emergence of AI and new digital solutions, technology and Big data will play vital roles as core components in the ongoing development of viable healthcare systems.

This seminar seeks to clarify the current state of healthcare policy and technology in Japan and Denmark, and with an eye to the future, will also discuss the development of both healthcare systems in the years to come. What new policies are in the pipeline, and which new digital solutions are on the horizon? How will both systems cope with and implement necessary technologies to meet the demands of an ageing society? How can academia contribute and provide a beneficial cross-fertilization of ideas and necessary knowledge-sharing? And how do we secure valuable user-perspectives in the ongoing process of developing and implementing new digital technologies in healthcare? These and similar issues will be addressed by the seminar’s speakers.
