My Professional Profile

My name is Toi Coney, I have three adult children and five grandkids. I have an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education. I have been teaching for 25 years. I've been a Lead and Assistant Teacher. I have experience with birth through 8 years old. I have taught Pre-K for many years. I have also worked with the after-school children.

I love children, I have a passion for teaching and a love of being in the classroom. Therefore, the early childhood field integrates my love for children and my passion for teaching. I always knew I wanted to spend my productive years working with children to guide their development at an early age. The foundation that I help children lay for their social, academics, and intellectual development in their formative years shapes their lives. In addition to deriving joy and fulfillment from teaching. I am passionate about serving the community. The early childhood field is one of the best ways of serving the community by raising the next generation of the community. The twenty-five years that I have spent teaching children have only fueled my desire to learn and do more for the children.

I enrolled in the BS Studies to further my education so I can become a Lead Teacher once again. I have worked as both a lead and assistant teacher. My primary role as an assistant teacher has been to teach and guide the students. However, as a lead teacher, I will help mold, guide, and mentor the next generation of teachers. That way, I will continue to serve the community and contribute to the learning of children in the future through the teachers I will mentor. Ultimately, becoming a lead teacher again will expand my contribution to the field of early childhood education beyond teaching to ensure the availability of teachers who are passionate as I am about children, their education, and their development.

My family inspired me to become a Teacher. I have many educators in my family and education was the natural path for me to follow. Growing up, I admired the impact of educators' work in my family. I wanted to make a significant contribution to society as they did by shaping the development of the next generation through education. I hope to pass on the same inspiration from my family to the younger generation.

I have finished my BS Degree. I have enrolled in the Master's Degree Program to further my education.
