These set of rules expand to the entire design process, and repeatedly breaking the rules will result in a strike.
Be patient! We are humans, too, after all. There may be complicated times, and we are well aware of the frustrations that come with having to alter a design that we've worked hard at and have come to absolutely adore. Constantly harassing our admins for their decisions regarding designs is prohibited.
Don't try to push the rules past their limit. Our rules are fairly relaxed and can, generally, be expanded to offer a wide variety of designs. We also take into consideration everyone's styles and this guide is written with the intent of different skill levels being able to play with their designs. That said, constantly trying to bend the rules, or constantly trying to make cats whose design doesn't match their given geno is not allowed.
You are allowed to defend your designs. Sometimes mistakes happen and admins can ask you to change something that is acceptable. If you ever feel like you are following these design rules and an admin asks you to change something, you can bring up the rule and/or ask for further clarification.
These are not 100% realistic. The group doesn't enforce realism, but it is a permitted look if you wish to follow it. You would still need to comply with our rules.
For example, Amber looks differently throughout a cat's life. The group only requires you to show the middle stage for their official reference, but you're free to have the full amber effect be present through art or lit.
Designs should look like their genos at first glance! Probably the most important aspect of the design guide is that they provide artistic freedom for everyone, but all cats should correspond to their proper geno.
For example, a black/red tortie with low white must always show all colors: red, black and white. Trying to make an all black-and-white cat will not be acceptable.
You are allowed to use your own colors. Throughout the guide you'll be able to spot various color swatches here and there. These aren't intended to be used as the only color options, but rather a guide that admins will use to compare against your colors. For example, if we have trouble immediately determining whether your cat is red vs cinnamon, admins would compare your design's color to both palettes and determine if it would need corrections.
