Hi there! This guide is intended to help keep consistency within the group, and its written to assist the designing process. Admins use this guide to correct designs, so if you keep within the acceptable examples shown throughout the guide, your designs will go through without much trouble!
Files can be found here.
You will have access to a .pdf file with all layers in their separate folders. You will, therefore, need an art program capable of working with both layers and folders such as Photoshop, Clip Studio, SAI, etc.
If you are unable to work with layers, we also offer a transparent .png version of each layer.
You will need to download each image individually and merge them into the same file.
These are meant to showcase the design, and as a result some things cannot be reflected in the import image but are perfectly fine for references and general art to incorporate.
Scars, missing limbs due to injury, blindness due to injury - Import lines should reflect the mutations that a cat is born with, since stories can change and things rewritten.
Accessories & Body Paints - Accessories are not allowed on references because they can obstruct a design. The imports are meant to be used as a clear reference for the design only, but you're more than welcome to include as many accessories as you want in the reference image!
While there isn't a set restriction on items, you should think about what's reasonable for a cat in the wild to carry and use. It's possible to find abandoned human-made items thrown about, but they likely wouldn't be in decent condition unless your cat recently got lost during the family vacation.
Hairstyles & Excessive fur - Cats may be drawn as particularly fluffy shorthairs, or extremely fluffy longhairs. Fur texture and variation is entirely up to you, as long as the cat maintains some resemblance to the colors shown in their import image.
You're also welcome to include hairstyles, as long as it isn't something excessive. If your cat looks like it just came out of a beauty salon, you may need to tone it down a bit; but things like bangs, hairties made with vines, braids are completely reasonable.
