Some politics:
AI in mathematics: Unfortunately, we are witnessing a surge of AI usage in mathematics. Even if we ignore all the problems with the wider ethics of large AI companies (which we shouldn't), one must wonder what is the future going to look like for people now finishing their masters and PhDs. Policy makers everywhere are trying to cut funding for basic research, and it's not hard to imagine that they will be even more prone to doing this if they keep seeing titles in newspapers about large models being able to do everything a mathematician can and more. Not all mathematicians are equally near-sighted when it comes to this, and some people much smarter than myself have drafted a Leiden declaration. I am a signatory and I hope it will become more popular soon and maybe even have some effect.

Protests in Serbia: My country is under an undemocratic regime which is supported by both west (EU and US) and east (Russia) imperial machinery. Serbian citizens have been protesting since November 2024, with a shocking lack of coverage in Europe, if you want to learn more about it please click here. If you want to learn about why Europe is silent when the authoritarian regimes it supports are doing horrible things you can check this nice article.  UPDATE: As of 2026, the protests have mostly died down and we are hoping to see an election and fall of the current regime.

Palestine: Israel is actively committing genocide and unfortunately Czechia and Serbia are both complicit in it, consider donating to starving people if you can. UPDATE: Even though the genocide has stopped due to the recent ceasefire, Israel and politicians who enabled it have hundreds of thousands of peoples lives on their hands and should be forever kept accountable for committing the most horrific crimes in recent human history. FREE PALESTINE!

Iran: The US and Israel are waging illegal war of destruction in Iran. If any other country would be doing this, we would see them banned from sporting events, shunned by the international community and called a terrorist state, which both US and Israel most certainly are.

Freedom of speech in Czechia: On 18.07.2025, Czech president Petr Pavel signed a law that puts communist ideology on the same level as Nazism. This ridiculous decision is worrying for anyone with a brain and shocking amount of support for this decision is another indicator of disgusting amount of historical revisionism in the global north...
