1. Create an Autodesk account.
2. Click the "Sign in" at the top right corner.
3. Click the "Create account" at bottom.
4. Enter your school email address, check the checkbox, and click "Next" to continue.
5. A code will be sent to your school email. Enter the code before it expires, then click "Next" to continue.
6. Enter your details, select the checkbox, and click "Next" to continue.
7. Your Autodesk account is now ready. The page will automatically redirect to the Autodesk Education site.
8. On the Autodesk Education site, go to the "Media & Entertainment" tab, locate "Maya", and click "Select".
9. In the "Student" area, click "Select" to continue.
10. Complete all the required details to continue with the education access.
11. In the "Customer Details" section, select your "Educational Role" and enter your "Date of birth". Then press "Continue".
12. In the "Educational Role", select "Student".
13. In the "Educational Institution" section, enter your school details and then click "Continue".
14. Enter school address.
(You can search the school address on Google.)
15. For Institution Type, select "University/Post-Secondary". In the Name of Educational Institution field, search for The One Academy, and enter https://www.toa.edu.my/ as the School website.
16. You’re almost done. Click "Continue".
17. Once everything is successful, you will receive an email confirming your education access. Click "Get products" to activate Maya.
18. You will be redirected back to the Autodesk Education page. Click "Select" under "Maya" to continue.
19. Click "Select" under "Student" to continue.
20. Click "Submit" under Subscription summary to continue.
21. Click "Access products".
22. Maya is now available for download, and click "Install" to download the installer. Choose the Maya version that matches your operating system, and make sure to download the English version.
💡Autodesk software licenses can be renewed annually. If your student license has expired, you can simply renew it to continue using the software.

1. Now that the installer is downloaded, we recommend choosing Maya 2024 as it is more stable and may be required for your future Final Year Project. However, you can install multiple versions of Maya on your computer, such as 2024, 2025, and 2026.
2. Double-click the installer to begin the installation.
3. Now Maya is preparing for installation.
4. Click "Next" to continue.
5. Make sure to select all additional components, then click "Next" to continue.
6. Wait for Maya to finish installing.
7. Click "Start" to open Maya.
8. The first time you open Maya, you will need to log in with your Autodesk account. The software will automatically redirect you to your browser for login.
9. If you are already logged in on your browser, simply click "Open Product" to continue.
10. Click "Open" to continue (this may vary depending on the browser you are using).
11. Maya is now preparing to launch.
12. Maya is now open and ready to use.

Although Maya includes built-in Arnold and Bifrost, these plugins cannot be automatically updated or upgraded through the Autodesk Access app. Updates must be downloaded manually via the Autodesk website using the installer.
1. Open the Autodesk Access app by clicking the Windows Start button and searching for Autodesk Access. Alternatively, you can find it in the system tray (bottom-right corner). Click the hidden icons arrow, locate the Autodesk Access icon, and double-click it to open.
2. When an update is available for your software, click the "Update" button to install it.
3. To update plugins such as Arnold and Bifrost, click View All Products and Services.
4. Select "Product Updates" to view more product updates.
5. Once in the Product Updates page, change the release date to All to view all the products incase you can't find the version that you are looking for.
6. Search for the product, plugin, or version you need to update, then click "Download" to get the installer. Make sure to select the correct version for your operating system (usually Windows). MtoA is a plugin for Maya that enables rendering with Arnold. Bifrost is a node-based plugin used for creating VFX.

Before installing any plugins, please close Maya to prevent potential issues during the upgrade process.
1. Once the installer has finished downloading, you are ready to install the plugins.

After upgrading Bifrost, you must manually uninstall the previous version. Otherwise, Maya may load the wrong version or encounter errors.
1. Click "Next" to continue.

3. After checking the checkbox, click "Next" to continue.
4. Click "Install" to start the installation.
5. The installation is in progress.
6. Click "Finish".
7. Click "Done" to end the installation.

1. Right-click the Windows Start button, then select "Installed Apps".
2. Search for Bifrost in Installed Apps. You will see both the old and the latest versions of Bifrost.
3. Click on the ··· menu next to the app, then select "Uninstall".
4. A dialog box will appear. Click "Uninstall" to begin the uninstallation.
5. The uninstallation has started.
6. You should now see that the old Bifrost version is no longer listed in Installed Apps.

Maya Security Tools helps ensure a safe working environment by detecting and managing potentially harmful scripts in your Maya scenes. Before installing, ensure that Maya is closed to avoid installation issues. After installation, open Maya, enable the MayaScanner plugin in the Plugin Manager, and then restart Maya so the changes are saved into your preferences.
1. Sign in to Autodesk App Store with your Autodesk account, then download the Maya Security Tools. Make sure to select the correct operating system and the English version of the installer.
2. Double-click the installer to install Maya Security Tools.
3. Click "Install Now" to start the installation.
4. Click "Close" to end the installation.
5. Lauch Maya and enable the Security Tools (MayaScanner.py and MayaScannerCB.py) in Maya Plug-in Manager.
6. After enabled Maya Security Tools, restart Maya.
5e. QtLite Installation
5e. QtLite Installation
QtLite is not a Maya plugin, but Maya relies on it for certain video export functions. It is a video codec package that enables Maya to export playblasts in .mov and .mp4 formats. Without QtLite installed, Maya cannot generate these video outputs properly.
Below is the download link for QtLite. After downloading, simply double-click the installer to complete the installation. Please make sure Maya is closed during installation; otherwise, Maya may fail to detect QtLite — but of course, Maya will detect it the next time you launch the software.
This is the QtLite installation file. Please download and install it before creating Playblast videos in MOV or MP4 format.
After installing QtLite, you will find the “qt” option available in the Playblast format settings.
