I'm on it this month! Actually writing an update on the first of the month! I thought I'd make a bright and cheerful 'check your chests' reminder this time.
I shadowed Hedwig delivering a Public Health Volunteer presentation yesterday. That was great fun. I'm looking forward to delivering my first one next Thursday. I'm also going to be doing something fun on Friday and will share once I know that I am allowed to. 😀
I've shared a reel/story on Instagram about The Walkie Talkies taking part in the 20th Crocus Walk in Deal next month. I'll share here along with the Just Giving link if you'd like to make a donation - all money raised is going to Breast Cancer Now: Link to reel, link to my Just Giving Fundraising page, and the link to the Team Walkie Talkie Just Giving page.
I also took some photos of my hair when it is wet. I much prefer the loose curls but unfortunately, it has to dry 😭
I'm pretty sure that it is starting to relax but it really is taking it's time. I finished chemo on 27th October 2023 and here we are, 16 months later, with hair that continues to be ridiculously curly. It also feels like it is taking forever to grow and everyone else who was having chemo is overtaking me in the hair growth game. Still, I only want to grow it so that the curls will go away then hopefully, I can cut it short again and have the pixie cut that I really wanted.

I thought I'd better come on and do an update. Not too much has been happening. Busy with work. I might update at some point but to be honest, I really can't be bothered.
I did deliver my first Breast Cancer Now Public Health Talk on 6th March. There were only a couple of people there but it is being shared internally to others as it was recorded. It went well. I was also contacted again by Breast Cancer Now earlier this week as somewhere in Ashford would like a face to face delivery. That's booked for the end of April. 😀
I have also taken part in a Breast Cancer Now Afternoon Tea photoshoot. That was a lovely day. Mum came with me to London and we had lots of photos taken. They also recorded a video of me answering some of their questions. I will share things when I am allowed to.
The Cancer Alliance work has been great. I'm working with a couple of professionals at EKHUFT to help co-design the chemotherapy booklet. Again, I will share this once I am able to. The Chemo Top Tips leaflet has been shared with professionals - it is a hit! It is going to be given to patients, shared on boards and screens. The Patient Partner group are brilliant!
The Walkie Talkies also had a lovely roam along Hythe Canal. It was a lovely Sunday morning. Unfortunately, I'm not going to be able to do the sponsored Crocus Walk next week as I am having a small procedure carried out on my left eye on 4th April - I don't think I'll be able to see where I'm walking. 😁
