I can't believe we're into June 2026! Where has the time gone? Work-wise, this is the start of a busy two months. I've also got quite a lot of cancer bits coming up.

Meeting someone from Mission Remission
A Walkie Talkie meet-up
Cancer in Common London Style
July
A visit to Breast Cancer Now's London offices for a volunteer meet up
KMCA Delivery Board (which I cannot attend)
KMCA Patient Partner meeting
A Walkie Talkie meet-up
KMCA CaPS meeting (which I don't think I can attend)
An online Public Health Talk for Breast Cancer Now
A KMCA Delivery Board meeting
I write all of the above on the third day of Volunteers Week. Something was shared on my work intranet about volunteering and sharing what you do. I contacted the comms team and shared some of what I do.
Kelly and I continue to attend the gym as regularly as we can. We walk. We go to pilates. I'm feeling fitter, stronger, with a little more energy. My muscles still ache but I think I'm going to have to live with that. I saw the orthopaedic surgeon at the end of last month. There isn't anything in particular going on that is causing my pain but the MRI did show some inflammation. I am going to have an injection to help alleviate some of the pain. However, I have found one of the machines in the gym is helping with my thigh and hip pain - hip adduction. 🙂
Sadly, two friends have died. Jules Fielder and Ann Wise.
Jules was the Hastings Cancer in Common host and one amazing woman. She had lung cancer and was a force to be reckoned with. She had a campaign to get information next to cough medicine about what to look out for. Such a formidable force.
Ann was someone I would meet at Cancer In Common events. She had triple negative breast cancer which came back as secondaries. She was diagnosed at the end of March this year and sadly died two months later, at the end of May. She was a wonderful person. Both will be hugely missed. 💔

Yet again, the month has run away from me.
I have completed the list of "cancer bits' above.
The highlight was Cancer in Common at Eastcheap Records, London on Saturday 27th June. Lots of lovely people, great music - just an absolute joy. I took a few photos (below). Tomorrow, I go back to London for the in-person volunteer meet-up at Breast Cancer Now. Exciting!
