Hurrah! I've remembered to do my update on the first of the month! As it is the beginning of June, it is the Isle of Man TT racing. Andy sent me some photos of wheels he had built and so I made use of these as the 'boobs'. ๐
We've also been for a lovely walk around the High Rocks in Tunbridge Wells today. I shared a reel on Instagram: High Rocks.
I've had my hair cut (the mullet has gone). The back has now been shaped and cut in a little so that the sides can now grow down. I still don't like the curls but just have to put up with them for the time being. I also got new glasses (I'm still waiting on the sunglasses). I'm pleased with them - the main thing is that I can now see!
Finally, I'm seeking some support around trauma associatations. Never be afraid to ask for mental health support. I'll keep you posted.
I'm also going to share the photos from the Breast Cancer Now Afternoon Tea shoot from back in March. They are now being used in advertising (should be able to click the link).ย
My blog has also been updated - you can also click on the picture below. My team also want to have a fundraiser similar to last year - busy busy.
My Just Giving Page for my Afternoon Tea is live and can be found by following this link: Julie's Afternoon Tea and 50th Birthday. I'd be grateful for any donations.

It's a Cancer In Common Saturday - hurrah! This time, it's in Hastings. I'm leaving at 11.30 and I cannot wait to see everyone. Excited!!!
Anyhow, this week has been busy. On Monday 2nd June, we had the Limbo Land and Chemo Top Tips launch. As Patient Partners, we were invited to introduce different things. I spoke about the Chemo Top Tips and how it came about - I'm so grateful to the Patient Partner Group for making it a reality. It is now on the Cancer Alliance webpage - link here. I also introduced the main Limbo Land video whilst a couple of other Patient Partners and a CNS introduced their individual stories. These videos can be found by clicking here. We are all immensely proud of what has been achieved. This link takes you to the Instagram post that was shared by NHS Kent and Medway.
On Tuesday, Breast Cancer Now held a Volunteer Week drop in session. That was a lovely hour, spending time with other like-minded volunteers. Earlier in the year, I sent a short video to Breast Cancer Now to include in a video. This has been shared on Instagram and can be found here.
Wednesday was my first of three (which turned into four) hospital visits. I needed my bloods checked so that I could have my 7th Zometa infusion. I also saw Nessy - this always makes me smile. I had the longest cuddle๐ฅฐ. On Wednesday evening, I joined an online meeting with Macmillan and The Department for Health to talk about the National Cancer Plan. We were able to give our views as patients. I truly felt listened to. I hope some of the information they collect will feed into the plan. I've also written another ten thank you cards to people who are fundraising for Macmillan.
Unfortunately, I had a call on Thursday morning asking me to go back as more blood was needed to collect the rest of the information required - I wasn't impressed as I had to drop everything.ย
I also had a contrast MRI of my shoulder - the lump that I found back in April. I'm trying not to let anxieties rise but that is incredibly challenging.
Finally Friday arrived and I had my Zometa infusion. My arm resembles a bruised pin cushion but at least they all managed to find veins - an ultrasound machine was used once or twice. ๐
Cancer In Common Hastings Style was fabulous - photos above. Well done Jules!
LIMBO LAND - many of the Cancer Alliance limbo land videos have been released. They are a superb set of videos which I will link here - the main, general one and my own story. This was a superb piece of work of which we are all very proud. Everything else can be found here.
I've finally found out what is wrong with my shoulder after finding the lump back in April - I seem to have an impingement, mild tendonitis and partial tear in a muscle, along with a little bursitis - the main thing is that there is NO DESTRUCTIVE BONY LESION IN THE CLAVICLE. It also appears that I have damaged it somewhere along the line. The GP has referred me to a physio to see if we can do anything with it.ย
