The first of the month came and went. I shared my usual 'remember to check your chests' post.
On Tuesday last week, I went to Faversham with Tracey from the Cancer Alliance to record my story for a Limbo Land film. This was a great thing to be part of. I did get a tear in my eye when asked what I'd like my loved ones to know - I said that despite everything they did, I still felt lonely.
We've also finished the Chemo Top Tips sheet. That's also very exciting.
On Thursday, I went to have my hair cut. We left it as it is because I'm going to have to grow it as the curls are not going anywhere. It looks ridiculous short (my view) and so I'm going to see what it does with a bit of length. Hopefully it''ll relax a little soon.....
Finally, it's World Cancer Day today. I shared my story with someone from my hospital trust, EKHUFT, and it was put onto social media.

Last week, I was asked if I'd like to help redesign a booklet that my NHS trust gives to to patients at the start of chemotherapy/immunotherapy.
It is quite a large booklet - I was given one when I went for my very first pre-chemo. I feel very privileged to have been asked and am really looking forward to helping in any way that I can.
ALSO, I'D LIKE TO REMIND PEOPLE TO MAKE SURE THEY GO FOR THEIR MAMMOGRAMS WHEN THEY ARE OFFERED THEM. THESE SCANS SAVE LIVES. TRUST ME! If you worry about radiation, it is about the same as the radiation exposure you'd have from flying to Australia and back - I'm pretty sure you'd do that if you were given the opportunity.

Currently, it's 11.31pm and I can't sleep so thought I'd update this page.
On Saturday 22.02.2025, mum and I went to London . We were going to the Future Dreams House for a Cancer In Common event but before that, we went to Oxford Street. We had a lovely time wandering round the shops, grabbing a simple Subway for lunch and travelling on The Tube (not sure mum enjoyed The Tube 😀. It was a bit noisy).
Following that, we made our way back to the St. Pancras area to go to the Future Dreams House. It was lovely. There was tea, cake, and we made an origami swan (that was more complicated than I expected). There were a few familiar faces as well.
It was an extremely tiring day but very enjoyable. We're going to London again next week for something to do with Breast Cancer Now.
I've also forgotten to share the full length Owise interview. Here is the link to the YouTube page: Owise - Julie's Interview but I've also included an embedded version below.
It's quite long but hopefully you can stay for the duration 😄😂.
