Welcome to the Teaching & Learning Summer Conference 2023!

This two-day event runs August 24 and 25, 2023 at Newnham Campus.

This year's theme is Assessment and Feedback.

⭐️Please bring your laptop or tablet to use during the event.⭐️

We are excited to announce that our keynote speaker is Dr. Brian Beatty.

Dr. Beatty is professor of Instructional Technologies in the Department of Equity, Leadership Studies and Instructional Technologies at San Francisco State University.

His keynote presentation on August 24 is titled "HyFlex Teaching and Learning: From Pandemic Survival to Moving Ahead Strategically."

The Teaching & Learning Summer Conference is our micro-teaching event. Micro-teaching is when a group of faculty observe others teaching short lessons and provide feedback. On day one, you will teach a “small” lesson (10-15 minutes long) and receive feedback. Through workshops, you’ll learn about educational technology tools, online course design, and more. On the second day, we’ll begin by learning more about assessment and feedback. You’ll then have an opportunity to prepare and teach a second lesson related to your area of expertise using the feedback that was provided on the day before and incorporating what you learned during the workshops. It is also a great opportunity for you to experiment with your teaching style and collaborate with your peers.

To learn more about micro-teaching, and how to prepare for day one, visit the Micro-teaching Instructions page.

This is a jam-packed event. To see the schedule, visit the Day 1 page and the Day 2 page.
