The Barton Reading and Spelling System, created by Susan Barton, is a great tutoring program for children, teenagers or adults who struggle with reading, spelling and writing due to dyslexia or a learning disability. In fact, it will improve almost anyone's reading, spelling and writing whether dyslexic or not. This program is based on the highly structured approach of Orton Gillingham. Barton uses a multi-sensory approach to teaching reading and spelling. There are 10 levels in the system and all students start at the first level. Students may progress at different rates depending on their background.
