Reading is an adventure, an interactive exploration between the author and the reader. When we read we explore new ideas and new information, making connections with prior knowledge and creating new understandings.
This module focuses on strategies to support reading comprehension within a multi-tiered system of supports (MTSS). Click on "Module Overview" for instructions on how to complete this module.

Classroom Implementation
Use the information from this module to complete an instructional activity with a student or group of students in your classroom. The basic planning steps are:
Select a group of students to work with.
Identify the standards/benchmarks you will address.
Identify an area or areas of need to address.
Plan for intensifying the instruction.
Identify a strategy that supports reading comprehension.
Identify a technology tool that your students can use.
Describe the instructional activity.
This document will guide you through the implementation activity.
The document includes a section on sharing what you have learned with other teachers. This is an important part of the learning experience. We are strongest when we share with each other and learn from each other.
