Room opens at 9:45am / Services begin at 10am
Holy Day Camp is for TEMPLE KOL AMI MEMBERS ONLY and is included in your membership. (The parent and/or guardian of the child MUST be the member)
Drop off will begin 15 minutes prior to services starting at 9:45am.
Parents must sign their children in. You will see signs directing you to the room when you arrive.
Children will remain in the room until the end of the Torah Service, which occurs towards the end of the main service. See "Pick Up" section below for details.
We will be bringing our HHD Campers into the sanctuary towards the very end of services on both Rosh Hashanah AND Yom Kippur for a children's aliyah.
ROSH HASHANAH: After the aliyah, we will direct children to a designated space to enjoy hearing the shofar blow as a group. We ask you to please head over to the designated section for pickup after services.
YOM KIPPUR: IMPORTANT - THERE HAS BEEN A CHANGE. We are no longer doing a children's aliyah on Yom Kippur. You can pick up your child directly from the childcare room. Please check out with a staff member before leaving with children.
EARLY PICKUP: If you would like to pick up your child prior to the end of services, please check out with one of the staff members in the room. While we do allow children to be picked up early, we kindly ask that students do not come and go repeatedly.
Students will not be allowed to leave early without a parent. (Older siblings do not count as a valid early "sign out").
We will be doing a combination of holiday-related and social activities, including ice breakers, discussions, art, games, and some free time where participants can choose which activity they prefer.
There will be 1-2 adult staff in the room along with several teen madrichim.
8th-12th grade TKA Members are invited to volunteer in our HHD Camp for community service hours. Teens who sign up to help are expected to remain in the room for the duration of the service and stay until all children are picked up. (If a teen has an aliyah or honor during the service, they will be excused during that time.)
We will be providing a light snack that will be dairy, gluten, and nut-free.
We encourage children to bring a water bottle with their first and last name printed clearly on it.
Children may bring their own snack as long as it is nut-free.
It is not expected that young children fast on Yom Kippur. Snack will be available on Yom Kippur for children who would like it.
While we appreciate your 4th-7th grader's interest in participating in our High Holy Day Camp, we encourage that age group to attend services as they prepare for becoming Bar/Bat Mitzvah. 4th-7th graders are not allowed in our High Holy Day Camp room at any point.
If you have any other questions or need further clarification on any of the above, feel free to contact the temple office at 480-951-9660 or our Youth Engagement Director. We look forward to celebrating the upcoming holidays with you and your family!
