This choir is a beginning level choir for all 6th grade male students. The focus for this ensemble is introducing music literacy skills, healthy tone production, and building class comradery. Mr. Lathrom and Ms. Murrell really enjoy starting the day with these men. The next step after this ensemble is Titan Men.
The 6th grade Treble choir is comprised of 6th grade female students. This choir takes place during 8th period. The focus for this ensemble is introducing music literacy skills, healthy tone production, and building class comradery. The next step after 6th grade Treble is either Titan Women or Varsity.
Titan Women takes place during 5th period here at TJH, and is made up of 7th and 8th grade female students. This choir is an intermediate level ensemble. In Titan Women, the main focus is to advance their music literacy skills, continue building a quality community, and really working toward a healthy, blended choral tone. The next step after Titan Women is Varsity or high school choir.
Titan Men is the advanced ensemble for 7th and 8th grade male students at TJH. All 7th and 8th grade male students are put in this ensemble, regardless of any previous experience. The pace and level of this ensemble changes from year to year depending on what the students are ready for and how many men are in the group. The focus of the class is navigating the changing male voice, continuing to build class comradery, and advancing their music literacy. The next step after Titan Men is high school choir.
The Varsity ensemble at TJH is comprised of females in 7th and 8th grade. There is an audition process for entry to this group that takes place at the end of the previous school year. This is an advanced ensemble that moves at a faster pace than any of the other groups. This group focuses on getting music literacy skills to the beginning high school level, really honing in on a beautiful choral tone, and building community within the ensemble. The next step from Varsity is high school choir.
