The Sri Nindra Nambi Perumal Temple in Thirukkurungudi is among the one hundred and eight 108 Divya Desam temples. The Sri Nindra Nambi Perumal shrine is called Dakshina Bhadri and Vamana Shetram. Lord Vishnu is the main deity of the temple. This temple has five Nambi (Vishnu) idols representing morality, righteousness, grace and beauty. They are: Thiruparkadal Nambi, Thirumalai Nambi, Nindra Nambi, Irundha Nambi, Kidandha Nambi.
Additional deities include Lord Sri Vadivazhagiya Nambi, Goddess Sri Kurungudi Valli Thaayaar, Goddess Andal, Lord Gnanapiran, Lord Lakshmi Narasimhar, Acharyas, Lord Ganesha, Lord Mahendra Girinadhar ( Lord Shiva), Lord Kalabhairavar, and Azhwars. At Nalayira Divya Prabandham, four Azhwars sing Paasurams at the Sri Nindra Nambi Perumal shrine (devotional hymns). Mythology says that Lord Nambi's lower-class servant Nampaduvan (Madangar), praised him. Brahma Rakshas blocked his route to the shrine. Nampaduvan promised the Brahma Rakshas without getting scared and kept singing for Lord Nambi.
Brahma Rakshas doubted Napaduvan's return. Brahma Rakshas let Nampaduvan worship Lord Nambi after his declarations. After thanking Lord Nambi, the servant (Nampaduvan) returned with the Rakshas. Lord Nambi, in disguise, stopped him. When Nampaduvan is asked about his fate, he predicts Rakshas. He was told to avoid Brahma Rakshas. Nampaduvan made a promise. Originally, Lord Nambi blessed Nampaduvan. After Lord Nambi's Dharshan, Nampaduvan gave himself over to the Rakshas. Nampaduvan's act satisfied the Rakshas, who told him his hunger was gone. He asked for the food that he brought after worshipping Lord Nambi. Brahma Rakshas regained his former appearance after consuming the fruits. He praised Nampaduvan for his curse and how he became a Brahma Raksha. Every year on Ekadesi, after 10 days of fasting, this temple recreates this story.
Sri Vijayaasana Perumal Temple is the second Nava Tirupathi. Poor Vedavith of Punyagosham Agraharam longed to see Maha Vishnu. Knowing this, the Lord appeared as a Brahmin and told Vedavith that 'Varagunamangai' was the best place for his penance. Chanting the Asana mantra, Vedavith beheld Vishnu and attained Moksha. Maha Vishnu became Vijayasanar after Vedavith's penance.

Bhooma Devi meditated on Perumal, who gave her darshan in a Vaikunda Vimanam. The darshan of the Lord purified her. Kusasana cursed the emperor of Sindhu. She gave Lord Vishnu those fish-shaped earrings at Panguni Poorima; thus, he is nicknamed Mahara Nedunguzhai Kadhan. Mother Bhoomidevi, Sri Perai, entitled Thenthiruperai.
The Sri Vaikundanatha Perumal temple is thirty-seven kilometers from Thirunelveli. The chief deity of Nindra Thirukkolam (Moolavar) faces east. Adisesh unfolds her hood over Vishnu and holds a weapon in his hand. 580 by 396-foot walls surround the temple of Lord Vaikutanathar. The nine-tiered Rajagopuram of the temple is 110 feet tall. The sanctuary has three passages. Lord Vaikuntanathar stands below Adi Sesha. Choranatha Nayaki and Vaikunta Nayaki have segregated open-air temples. The Choranatha Nayaki temple leads to Paramapada Vaasal. Vaikunta darshan is performed annually.
