This is a photo of the Evans School in Prairie Township. It served the central part

of the township until the Prairie Township High School was built and opened in 1922.

Sharpsville Barrel Stave Factory

Here's a photo of the Sharpsville Barrel Stave Factory and some of the men employed there. On the left side stands Jake Fretz. Jake came to Sharpsville from Clay County, Indiana, here in Sharpsville he met and married Melvia Mae Hutto. She was the daughter of John Prime and Marcella McKay, Hutto. Jake later had a grocery store in Sharpsville.
